Nobel Prize in chemistry awarded for development of the lithium-ion battery

On Wednesday, 9th of October The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the Nobel Prize in Chemistry to John B. Goodenough, M. Stanley Whittingham, both USA, and Akira Yoshino, Japan, for their work on the development of the lithium-ion battery.
