The MSE offers a doctoral program in cooperation with universities of applied sciences.
Engineering research is increasingly reliant on research groups with both experimental skills, as well as theoretical and methodological expertise. For this reason graduates of universities of applied sciences are specifically addressed and their research is then integrated in the research carried out at MSE. Thus, networking among research groups at the participating universities is enhanced.
The subject of a doctorate must be within the MSE topic spectrum. Each project is applied for and supported by a “researcher tandem” consisting of teachers at the respective University of Applied Sciences and at TUM. The doctoral candidates become members of the TUM Graduate School and take the latter's qualification program and get integrated into the academical enviroment of the TUM.
Once a year on the last thursday of november the Co-op symposium is held at which the doctoral candidates present their research projects.
Visit the TUM Graduate School website for details of offerings and advisory services for doctoral candidates, for example relating to funding.
